ABOUT

Leonardo Garcia Fuenzalida is a Chilean multi-flutist, quena player, composer and arranger based in Paris, France. He works both as a studio and live musician, mainly involved in World Music projects. Lecturer at the Jazz Department of the High Studies Artistic Pole of Paris Boulogne-Billancourt (PSPBB), he teaches currently Modal improvisation in World Music and Ethnomusicology. He has also a wide working experience abroad; performing, recording and teaching in countries as Bulgaria, Chile, China, Colombia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Turkey and the USA.
Leonardo is a graduate from the Catholic University Music Institute of Chile (Western Flute Performance Major) and from the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP), in Generative Improvisation and Musical Acoustics. He has also has two French State Diplomas (DE), in Traditional Instruments and Flute, and a PhD degree in Sociology (music and religion) from the University of Paris-X.
